This new location-based experience will complement the home VR game, which is scheduled to be released in the next year. VRWERX previously announced it had started work on a VR game inspired by the Mission: Impossible franchise. “With this, we see the opportunity to innovate on the action and excitement.” “In Paranormal we innovated for VR, we did stuff no one else have done in the way people are immersed,” said Alex Barder, VRWERX co-managing partner. It drew inspiration from another Paramount franchise for its first VR game, Paranormal Activity: The Lost Soul, which placed the player inside a demonic possession/ghost story. Game developer VRWERX will create the narrative. Nomadic’s walk-around VR experiences blur the line between “virtual” and “reality,” incorporating physical props, set design and environmental effects to enhance the story.
